Common Objects is an African American owned, artist only music & sound design company.

Launched by indie music veteran songwriter Ron Fountenberry (Softlightes, Incredible Moses Leroy) Common Objects was created with the simple goal of being a storyteller’s best friend all while creating a sustainable form of income for artists.

Common Objects has a different business model than most music houses. Typically a music house takes 75-90% of the budget leaving the composer/artist a mere 10-25% ….ouch.

We see things differently. By sharing the majority of profits directly with composers/artists and making sure to be socially conscious through giving to charity, Common Objects seeks to cultivate an equitable creative environment which we believe vastly improves the quality of music.
